ISICAD working group is based at the
Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE)
Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung
Our Approach
- ISICAD is based at the German Centre for Documentation and Information in Agriculture (ZADI). Therefore the team has a profound background in Agriculture and parts of the staff have experience in rural development from their work in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Our programmers are also trained specialists in IT:
- All our products are based on open source, i.e. the products are license free.
- All products produced for a “client” will be available for partners working in development and are not property of the partner, who financially supported the project.
- All the concepts (regarding communication, design, database structure, user guidance) are developed in cooperation with our partners. We usually start with a prototype and discuss further ideas with our partners.
- All products may be seen as modules, which can be freely combined for the benefit of partners.
- Staff of ISICAD working group make a living through project work – we are completely self-catering. At the same time, ISICAD staff is employed at ZADI, a German public institution and therefore salaries are based on standard rates – we do not buy new cars of project funds.
